My interest in Photography began at an early age with my BrownIe.
I pursued my passion for Photography during my two years living in Europe in my 20s.
I travelled and photographed all over with my rock solid Nikkormat. All manual, I developed a keen sense of the nuances of natural light. I studied the great portrait painters including Singer-Sargent, Goya, Rubens, and Carravagio for their secrets of lighting and posing. I developed thousands of pictures in my darkroom. Portraits of women and children, architecture, seascapes to street-scapes, I loved it all.
My goal in portraiture is to discern the person within, to bring out their essence, not just to make technically good or flashy pictures. It takes time to develop rapport with people, but it is essential to the outcome of the photography session. Take a look at the portraits in my Galleries-each person is revealing some inner beauty, some of their essence.
Now that my career as a civil rights lawyer is winding down I have once again immersed myself in photography. I take classes and wherever I go I look for opportunities to take striking photos of people and places. Since 2014 I have shot thousands of pictures, some of which are displayed in the various galleries in the Home section.
My work includes portraits of adults and children in outdoor natural light and studio settings, events including weddings, receptions, fundraisers, birthdays, tango dancing, and people with their dogs. I can and will make you happy.
